That is what our Lord Jesus Christ said while addressing the apostle Peter in Matthew 16:23: “But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.”

It’s time to tell the devil to shut up!
IT'S TIME TO TELL THE DEVIL TO SHUT UP!...TO 'GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN'! THAT'S WHAT OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST SAID, WHILE ADDRESSING THE APOSTLE PETER IN MATTHEW 16:23, "BUT HE TURNED, AND SAID UNTO PETER, GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN: THOU ART AN OFFENCE UNTO ME: FOR THOU SAVOUREST NOT THE THINGS THAT BE OF GOD, BUT THOSE THAT BE OF MEN." What led to this was that Peter began to rebuke Jesus after he heard of the coming crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, as we're told in the preceding 2 verses, in Matthew 16:21-22, "From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee." Lookingatverse23ofthesame16thchapterofMatthew'sgospel,JESUSSAIDTOPETERTOGET THEEor'leadunder','bringunder''withdraw','go','depart',BEHINDMESATAN,stilladdressing Peter.Peter'srebukewassatanic,thewordsatanmeaningadversary,opposerandaccuser.The adversary,satanwasatwork.Theopposer,satanwasatworkatthistimeinPeter. And those words, a rebuke of the SAVIOR OF THE WORLD, JESUS called an 'offense' or THE MEANS OR METHOD OF STUMBLING OR ENTRAPMENT UNTO JESUS. Jesus goes further to explain the how, which is in the Greek rendering of the phrase 'SAVOUREST NOT'… NOT SETTING YOUR MIND AND THOUGHTS ON. Peter was not continuously setting his mind on the things which be of God, but on the things which be of man. So, when we do not set our minds continuously on the things which be of God, but the things which be of men, satan can cause us to be an entrapment or the means of stumbling in the kingdom work of the Lord Jesus.

Set your mind on things above
The Bible then says to set our minds on things above in Colossians 3:2, "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.". That's what FAITHTHINKING revelation and practice helps us to do. The Jesus' faith that we receive, brings our minds of Christ (1 COR. 2:16), to the same understanding as faith in Heb. 11:3 (Read previous FAITHTHINKING editions). Do you realize, according to Cleveland Clinic and other authorities that you process about 70,000 thoughts a day and 80% of those thoughts are negative and that 95% of them are repetitive? Let's read together from 2 COR. 4:4, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." Satan blinds the mind or the center of emotions, feelings, thoughts, imaginations, reasoning and will of those not believing or exercising faith, so they will not enjoy the shinning experience of the glorious good news of Christ, who is the image of God. The devil hates for you to receive the Jesus good news for your salvation, your healing, your promotion, your breakthroughs, etc! That's why the Word of the Living Christ gives us an answer in 2 COR. 10:4-6, (4"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." CAST ALL THOSE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS DOWN, IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!! You see, the god of this world, satan, works through thoughts and operates in the thought realm. He also afflicts the spirits of those he possesses. We see this in 2 COR. 2:11, "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." The word devices comes from the Greek word 'NOEMATA' derived from the word 'NOEMA' or the results of activities of the mind. Satan seeks everyday to take advantage of us in the thought realm and WE MUST NOT LET him! Praise God we have victory in Christ Jesus, to trample him and his thoughts as we continue in our FAITHTHINKING WALK with the Holy Spirit. MAY THE LORD HELP US TO CAST DOWN EVERY THOUGHT FROM THE DEVIL IN OUR FAITHTHINKING WALK as we yield CONTINUOUSLY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT in moment by moment repentance and using our Jesus' faith in allowing a WILL ALIGNMENT with God's will, in our mind of Christ, so as to CONTINUOUSLY EXPERIENCE THE SUPERNATURALLY EXPONENTIAL, IN JESUS' NAME!
