Ephesians 6:16 · Luke 22:31-32 · 1 Peter 5:7-9
That's right! And yes, you have that power! "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." The Greek root of "able" in Ephesians 6:16 means power. So through faith as a shield, we have power to extinguish all — not some — of the fiery arrows of satan, the evil one.

FAITH POWER TO QUENCH…ALL!!! THAT'S RIGHT! AND YES, YOU HAVE THAT POWER! The Word of God declares in Ephesians 6:16, "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." PAUL TELLS US BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, TO TAKE THE SHIELD OF FAITH WITH WHICH WE HAVE THE POWER TO QUENCH OR EXTINGUISH ALL THE FIERY DARTS OF THE DEVIL!!! POWER COMES WITH FAITH THAT'S ALSO OUR SHIELD. THE GREEK BIBLE ROOT WORD IN EPH. 6:16 FOR THE WORD "ABLE", MEANS POWER. SO, THROUGH FAITH AS A SHIELD, WE HAVE POWER TO EXTINGUISH ALL(NOT SOME) THE FIERY ARROWS OF SATAN, THE EVIL ONE!!! THAT TAKES US TO Luke's Gospel chapter 22:31-32, " 31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." Jesus lets us know of two things at work during a trial of faith even when satan wants to sift the believer as wheat…PRAYER and FAITH. DR.STEVEAMS Notice, the prayer for Peter is FOR HIS FAITH NOT TO FAIL, after Satan demanded of Jesus that He take His hands completely off of Peter to satan's control. The devil cannot do a thing to you child of God without going through Jesus! Jesus did not stop there but assured Peter that He had prayed for him, SO THAT HIS FAITH DOES NOT FAIL, AND THAT WHEN HE IS TURNED AROUND, HE SHOULD STRENGTHEN HIS BRETHREN. FAITH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIRESTORM IS WHAT WE MUST HAVE TO CONTINUALLY QUENCH EVERY FIERY ARROW, THROWN AT US BY THE WICKED ONE AND HIS COHORTS. WE SEE THIS INTERCESSORY PRAYER MINISTRY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST in Romans 8:34, "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." And then in Hebrews 7:25, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
